shannon Decided to do my 2nd park run after some good recent running, a good sleep and also some cool but not too wet conditions. Train there and back today - walked in and out behind the winner (at least I can say I walk quicker than him and his coach!). I set off about 3/4 of the way back of the ensembled masses, roughly the same place as my 1st race. It felt much slower than last time though and I spent the first 1k passing alot of runners. A good sign. I think my pace was nice and even all the way round and I cannot recall being passed by anyone all the way round. Just a bit annoyed I could not get past two guys at the finish line, it is a really tight finish and they had some good gas. As expected, smashed my 1st effort time due to all the westerton hill runs I have been doing. It's going to be hard now to get close to this time at my next parkrun!!! Will go with official gun time for now and start a bit further up next time. A great morning and a real spring in my stride getting back to the house to see clan shannon. :-) And once again, full praise and thanks to all the volunteers at the run this morning.
