bedlam_g Criffel Hill Race - Thoroughly enjoyable hill race from the pretty Dumfrieshire village of New Abbey. Was surprisingly in 3rd place for about 2/3rds of the way to the summit lost a few places in the walking bits near the two peaks. Then a good few more in the descent for a decent 14th place. Knee deep peat bogs for most of the way had me tumbling about 5 times on the way down and looking like a bog snorkeler at the finish, the gale force winds at the top had me blown into the air a couple of times. But the views across the Solway to England were stunning the race was great fun and the Macaroni and Cheese in the Criffel Inn was probably worth the journey on its own.
