Boycie good run - this course gets nastier everytime! Main aim to beat impossible achieved! Ran to a good plan - track for the first 2k and then try and put some distance between us before the climb on the way back out. Managed to get a good few metres by the turn and then seemingly plenty by the top of the hill. 31s I do believe mean I have 50 seconds in hand for the 5 miler (that's if he allows a postponement until January's race as I got the dates of the December one confused!)

Impossible is Nothing Really disappointed (and not just because Boycie beat me - he deserves his turn for success!). First I got lost on my warm-up(!!) and only got back to the start just in time for the race. Then I went out too fast and discovered my watch hadn't started and so I had no idea of the time after 1k, half-way, 4k etc - which for me in a 5k would have been very helpful. I finished the race, however, and will be back next time for some scalps and a PB. Result 33rd out of 126 (a lot of runners at the fast end).
