ian9657 Decided to run this race as my comeback, it was the only one which I could find being held on my birthday.
Four Hs is the only way to describe this race..... it was :

damn Hot
damn Humid
damn Hilly
and damn Hard....

Managed to get a PW......but it was my 1st 10k in 18 months . Unaffiliated 41:35 44:31 55:00 53:59 55.03
kyt hilly budvar run. hopefully beat 43 minutes and/or last place and yano if he has a heavy friday.

update: well, that was fun. and warm. and kinda hilly. pretty much jogged 5-8k, misjudged the stretch by dougalston, then tanked the last k. felt sick. excellent course. slowest 10k time since balmoral some years ago. 18/83 Unaffiliated 39:45 40:09 42:00 45:10 59.51
shannon hot and hilly but an enjoyable run. seemed more like 11k. Garscube Harriers 38:35 41:05 45:06 58.54
Yano Should be hilly - country roads around Milngavie and Balernock. Not expecting a PB here. Update: just looked at map from kyt - I've done this route on the bike before - it's a killer! We get to run through a ford though so that's quite fun.... Post-race update: scorching hot day. Started at 4min/k pace but made the mistake after 1k to push ahead of a group - found my self running alone for the next 4k which was soul destroying. The hills! The hills were long, steep and felt endless. Had to stop at 5k to drink and was v glad to see kyt just behind me - thanks for the company, that really helped. Heat was unbearable - felt like being sick and/or stopping. Wasn't until the top of the last hill I knew I would finish ok and managed to run last k sub 4. Very tough run - over 5mins slower than Dumbarton on Thursday! The run of 5 PBs in a row ends in glorious style. I'll be back next year and will pray for rain! 16th out of 83. Unaffiliated 39:32 39:32 42:00 44:52 59.18
