Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

HermanBloom Interesting course around the park. Pretty decent staging area and lots of support at the start/finish area. Flat course, leading to good times (as can be seen by the race results from Fetchies). Only criticism I have was that you get a drink at the end but after that the small amount of water they provided vainshed quickly. But seems harsh to over-emphasise that when the rest of the event was run really well.

If you are looking for an end of year race to target a 10k PB, then this seems pretty much perfect.

RichardNathan Wow. What a result for me! This I was not expecting. Having been out the night before and not training fully (one 11.5k run only in the week leading up to the race) I was not expecting a PB.

In fairness I think I could improve on this time. The thing about the Regent's park course is that it's so flat and i wizzed around the first 4k in around 16 mins and ran the first 5 in about 20 mins 31. I paced myself wrong though as I had a lot left in the tank and managed a huge sprint finish at the end. The finishing line was in a different place to the previous races I have done at Regent's park though. It came round the corner out of complete suprise so I didn't start my sprint towards the finish as quickly as I could have. Garmin was also nackered as I didn't turn it on early enough before the gun. Amateur! Placed 31 out of 367 runners.

Realistic target time based on 3 days training in the week beforehand and a good night's sleep the night before should be 41 mins 30.
