40 km GA1 to Brandis and Gerichshain

I took my regular route out towards Wolfshain where I went on to discover new ground in Beucha. My planned route down to Albrechtshain was closed due to roadworks, so I had to improvise. I had never been to Brandis before so that sounded like a good idea. It was a nice little hill up to the church but up there, I got onto some really uncomfortable cobbled streets - poor old road bike, it got shaken up quite a bit. Then I took the route over to Gerichshain which had very nice cycle paths. I crossed the railway line and then hit the wide road to Borsdorf. On working days, it's a very busy road and I wouldn't dare to cycle there but on a holiday, I had the speed track to myself. Unfortunately, I had to ride into a headwind so the speed wasn't that impressive but I got a good effort in. From Borsdorf, I looked for the turn to Althen which lead me into the residential area. I managed to get out and then rode over the new bridge across the motorway. Back via the school hill in Mölkau and Albrechtshainer Straße. Enjoyable ride. I'll definitely explore more over there, Naunhof is still on my list.
