Hi ,

But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

brotherjohn Great event, cant fault it really. Time not as good as I would have liked, found the second half hard work. Seemed much more undulating than I remembered. Still, I won the V50 again and got a couple of bottles of wine for my efforts.

DrBob Really not great, had to work really hard in the first half, got better in the second half with small negative split. Cramp in last couple of miles slowed me up a bit, but was much less severe than last time.
Need a break now! Hamstring very sore afterwards

KinkyS Struggled with tired legs and niggly shin for the first 10 miles, and only gave it some for the last 5K when I realised that despite a well below par run so far, I could still make sub 1:40 if I went for it. A sub 22 minute effort from 10-13.1 did the trick, especially a 6:40 final mile. Hurty! 28th lady out of 365, 6th FS. But still a gorgeous day and a gorgeous race, even if I was a bit rubbish...

AngeM Based on performance at Stowmarket Seven this weekend, I decided I'm gonna do St Neot's as a training run and take the pressure off me and avoid the disappointment every time I race since being injured. I guess, I'm expecting too much to get back to my form from earlier this year so quickly after reduced training from 8 months of injury! So I'll be there to run to enjoy the run and see my friends PB! :0)
UPDATE: perfect day for running, perfect organisation, lovely marshalls and lovely tech t-shirt again. Decided (definitely) at 2 miles to follow original plan of using this as a training run and take it easy. It made for a lovely run. My racing head has really just not been right since Edinburgh mara, and the injury over the last months from it and the mara training. Saw M run a SB which she deserved though. Very pleased for her. There's always next year for me to try for that sub 1:45! :0) Glad I've done it and just Luton Relay to do now and then no more races till late next year!!

Vicksta Not at all bad considering the hangover from a college reunion dinner the night before! My aim for the race was to get round without puking, but actually managed my 3rd fastest HM! I wish I had taken the race a bit more seriously and abstained from drinking, like Vindicatordid, I could have done a serious PB attempt. Ah well, there is always the next one. Nice to run bits of the race with KinkyS and Flanker.

Billy Cazza Treating this as a long training run. It will be the longest I've run since early August '08. Around 2hrs would be good. Post race: Groovy under 2hrs. This is the longest I've run in 15 months. With my flu bug last month I had serious doubts about doing this one. Ran with KazzaF for the majority of it and enjoyed the company. Really encouraging marshalls. A good way to celebrate DD 6 month birthday.

runningmumof3boys my 1st half marathon- ok i wonder if I could have gone faster but i had never ran more than 10 miles so was terrified of burning out! I tried not to go faster than a 10 minute mile for the 1st 7 miles- after half way i had an energy gel and my ipod died but luckily i had a new blackberry zipped into back of my leggings- i was worried about cold hahaha shouldnt have but anyway i invested in a nice nike running hat and gloves and full length leggings!
loved it and was pleased with time!!! roll on next year!

Schnecke 2nd best HM time - over 3 mins improvement on last year's time on the same course, so quite happy with that. Right hip started to really hurt between miles 9 and 10, and it felt like more that just the usual tiredness and strain from making an effort. It's OK now, but hope I haven't done any damage.

Gem* Come on, surely I can do 2 mins off my PB!
Yay... did 3.5 mins off PB, am v v pleased. Think I raced it more like a 10 miler than a 13 as my last 3 were quite slow due to the previous hills which were a bit tough! But it's always good when you're gradually overtaking people for most of the race.... whoop!

Drell I'd love to beat 2 hours, but it's a hope rather than an expectation. Although the course isn't flat, I would definitely hope to PB. -- And I did PB, convincingly, but missed the 2 hours. It was a good run, though, and I really couldn't have gone faster.

ButterflyLou (MrsMothy) As my post chest infection lungs struggled at near PB pace at the Frostbite last week (5 miles) I'm going to take it easy and treat this as a LSR with drink stations, enjoy the race and not put myself under any pressure :-).
