Caterpillar This is going to be a stroll in the park. I am intending to scrape a couple of seconds off my 10 mile PB time, which was set pacing someone else so it's not really my PB. LOL! This is an exercise in target practice. How accurately and evenly can I run 1:25?

AFTER: What a fun day, except for the rain. Was running with a few Fetchies up to mile 8 and then needed to step on the gas to get inside 1:25:00, but I overcooked it, and had to slow right down for the last mile so I didn't PB by too much. Problem is, I forgot that Mr Garmin was going to beep at 10 miles and I'd still have a hundred yards to go, so I had to leg it again in the last couple of hundred yards to get inside 1:25:00 and slightly overdid it again. Oh dear. That's a whole minute off my PB. That wasn't the plan. :-)

Banny 10/04/09 - 10.00m - 1'24'56 **Personal Best**
A new PB at a new distance. This time an official race. Went over to Maidenhead today to have a go. My target was to be under 1'30. Boy did I beat that. I was over five minutes faster. Considering I slowed down to chat to the legends that are Mick n' Phil. The start was the worse bit, I started too far back and the first mile was extremely slow, I posted 8'05 but it should have been a little faster. Spookily the second mile was also 8'05, weird. Thre I slipped to 8'14. Four 8'49 and I was worried that I was losing it. with 5 at 8'48 I was now planning for later miles to be 9'30 and how it close it would be under 1'30. Needn't have worried as six was 8'27, nice. Seven 8'33 so my constant pace was pretty consistent. Now eight was back at 8'45 but I was now being talied by a lass who was using me as a good pacer. That was it, time to step up a gear 8'52 not much better but the final mile I really dug in and pushed fo home, 8'12. Magic stuff and to get a free Mars bar at the end, well, st7uff of dreams. A nice flat race pretty much in damp conditions. Nice to have the family at a couple of spots along the way to chher me on.
Great event, I must return. Sub 1'20 next year I hope.
