Very wet, windy and muddy. Fastest time by 1 sec 🤪. Would have been more but I slipped down the hill with my right leg up my back and couldn’t get up until help came 😂. It was right in front of the photographer. Luckily he came running over so didn’t take a photo 😂.

What a lovely run/walk. A bit of sunshine makes all the difference. The wind was cold on the tops but it was mainly behind me or to the side. Tried to keep HR <135bpm, Ave HR 128, that’ll do. Legs still tired from Sat and I have a few aches and pains but nothing I’ve not had before. Enjoyed that. 😀

Had to do my LR today instead of Saturday as after 14 months of waiting I've got an appointment at the Immunology clinic in Newcastle 😀
Run/walk as per usual. I was tired before I set off as I woke at 2.30am and couldn’t get back to sleep, good training I suppose 😜 I went round the route so the hills came last so I could push up them on tired legs. Everything was ok until I got to the furthest point along the lake and the blummin heavens opened and it was freezing. I had to stop and take my pack off to put my jacket on. The wind was bitter all the way back and I got soaked. Had to strip off n the bathroom as soon as I got in and got in the shower to warm up. My legs were very tired when I set off, my calves were tight and trying to run up even a small incline made my shins hurt so a lot of walking on every incline. Found this really hard for the first 5 miles. I had to remind myself that some runs can be hard and on race day I might feel the same and I just have to get on with it.

Thought it was about time I started doing some hilly hikes. Set Garmin to hike only to find out it’s on automatic pause so every time I stopped (to let the dog catch up, open/close gates, climb over stiles) it would pause then not restart straight away it was very annoying.

Met up with Sushi before the start, she is slowly getting her running fitness back after finishing the virtual challenge swim and I’m just taking it easy so we decided to have a fun afternoon, chatting, running, walking and holding gates open for the racers. I have really enjoyed having Sushi’s company on this run. The time flew by. Can’t remember all those stiles though, Sushi said it’s like childbirth and you forget the horrible bits 🤣. I felt strong at the end and felt I could have gone further 😁

A nice and easy run/walk keeping HR <130. Ave 120 that’ll do 😄
A chap came out of the woods from the side onto the fell and he scared me, that’s why I had a HR of 151.
