Cutjap DID NOT expect to put up a time like that. I read some places said this is a good course to set your PB and I can't agree more. If only I'd pushed it as I know I had more in the tank. This is a definitie for next year - the second last hill is a bit of a killer though, as was the wind for 4 or 5 miles on that back road!

DaveG First run for a while after back injury. Back was fine, surprisingly, but I could see how unfit I've got. The hill from 10 to 11 miles absolutely destroyed me.

davie y Hopefully will be the one when i go under 90 minutes. 90 Minutes my arse . was on course for pb after 8 miles then the wind kicked in . muggins here led a group of about 12 all the way through the headwinds whilst they tucked in behind. you know who you are!!

Debstir Running this as a 'long run' - will be nice to get under 2 hours. UPDATE: One of the worst races I've had in a good long while. Wanted to chuck it in by mile 3 (first 2 mile splits explain that one), but dug in and kept going - just! That headwind along the hillfoots was worse than expected. Never managed my mile warm-up or mile cool-down but 13m will do for now I think.

Dvorak Another sub-2, not quite a PB, but happy with my run. Decent conditions, would have liked more sun and less wind. Started easy, then reeled people in continuously after the first two miles. Worried a bit that I was passing so many into the wind. Though I was faster at this point, but wayward arithmetic was called at 10 miles. Paced well and it felt as easy as any HM I've done. Hang about, I'm saying

Gogsy! My first half (& the longest distance I've done since 1983!). I struggle to train longer distances at 10.30/mile & here I am at a minute faster-plus my last 3 miles were the fastest: averaging 9m03s. A good day & I didn't find it too tough, although we seemed to face a headwind forever.

IanS Supposed to be a training run but ended up only 2 mins outside my PB :-) Felt pretty strong all the way round, even in the wind and up the hill - very pleased with that! Well organised race, very friendly and nice to see all the Fetchies :-)

mad4it Best pace at 2hrs 6min 53secs don't know if i can beat this but will give it my best shot, didn't quite come off but did get in under my predicted time, new route from the last time and strong winds when the were in front of you.Very pleased with the outcome overall and there were no after effects so my training must be paying off.

MartyK Was aiming for 8min miles and started quite strongly, so I was about 2mins ahead after 5miles. But the headwind on the back straight was draining and had slowed to walk for 30secs on the killer hill after mile 10, but once I got past that I was able to up the pace again (thanks to the chap handing out quality streets!). Good to grab afew drinks with the fetchies afterwards too!

RunDMc Hurrah. Managed to get into this at the last minute, having missed out on Inverness 'cos of the weather. Two weeks to break in new shoes and, hopefully, go for a couple of runs longer than an hour between now and then. UPDATE must work on pace over first ten miles; the last two miles today were my quickest of the day - but pretty much all of them were 9 min/miles until then (5 and 6 a bit quicker). Felt fresh at the end, will work on getting those early mile times down towards 8-30.

Son of a Pronator Man Not sure about a bet. Training is going well for Lochaber Marathon, but not sure that I have the speed for a half PB at this stage. Alloa's a harder course than Lochaber and so I'm not certain about shaving the 30 seconds off. I'll be trying but who knows ?* Update is that my PB blew away from me in the wind on the Hilfoots Road and while I ran to pace on every other part of the course, I dropped 90s over those 4 miles and couldn't get them back again. Faster than last year on the same course, tougher conditions. Per ardua ad astra , I always say. Sorry if I blew your credits out

SueW I entered on teh day and really enjoyed a laid back run. I'm pleased with my time. I had thought anything under 2.15 would be good and even in truth I wouldn't have been surprised to have gone out to 2.30. I did do 22.5 miles with hundreds of feet of ascent on teh West Highland Way yesterday, hence my reduced expectations today!
Breezy along teh Hillfoots. Very efficient race organisation. Several pages of results were posted before i had even finished. Well done Alloa round table.

Vic Mason Entry confimed. This will be part of my FLM training and depending on the weather & course this could possibly be a new PB. *** UPDATE*** A very well organised race in very windy conditions, especially down the by the Ochils. I stayed with a group of 4 or 5 runners and we all worked well with each other. Thanks to LorraineS et al for the shouts of support which was much appreciated. Finishing position 57/972
