Is anyone else enyoying a slow rise up the rankings since the lockdown? Presumably as last years spring races stop being counted. I've risen from the Div 15/16 yoyo to the Div 14 relegation zone, what happens if there aren't any races for a whole year? 😲

I don't get virtual races. I think it's because I can't run "fast" on my own and it's just another training run to me, not a race at all.

Virtual races need an element of competition to be motivating, otherwise I agree, Minardi. But the possibility of improving (or maintaining) my UTMOST league position is competitive enough for me

If you’d asked me two months ago, I would have said I’d never bother with a virtual race . . .

I'm with you minardi. Races need people. Otherwise its just a time trial and I CBA with them!

I just got a notification to say I had gone up an UTMOST division. A bit surprising, as I haven't run very far or very fast in the last week.
When I looked at the page, it shows me at the top of the division I have just been promoted into with a score of "20" for every distance!! On further inspection, I seem to have run a marathon in 2:04:59 last week!
Woohoo!

Well done, you must be an international athlete in disguise! Submit a request to fetch asking him to find out what happened?
I have moved up in my division to a promotion place - I haven't run a 2:04:59 marathon, though ! I haven't run any races for months, it is just other peoples race times dropping out.

Ah! It must have picked up my virtual Race to the Stones time and churned its calculations on the basis of me covering 100k and not the 26.2 miles that I actually covered!
