Is there a basic idiot-guide to what's happening, where and when, etc. without leafing back through the whole thread?

Any chance this can be made into a 26.2 miler ? would love to be there for the boys as would many 100 club members but not for 13 miles of running - any chance of doing the course twice ?

Dear basic idiots....

The race had to be moved to March because Severn Trent decided to dig up the access roads in November.

Organisation is moving on apace. we have applied for a licence to run a half marathon and will run a simultaneous fun run for shorter distances. Unless there is significant evidence to the contrary I can't see us changing to a marathon as I believe that it would reduce the number of entrants, increase the effort and cost of running the event and therefore reduce the amount we will be able to raise towards the costs of keeping MicknPhil running. Incresing the official distance will also put us into competition with the well established Draycote Ultra which takes place on the site in February. If anyone wants to run on after the race has finished I have no personal objection, but we will be removing the safety and organisational appartus after the a suitable period of time has elapsed.

We have a meeting at draycote on October 5th at which we will need to finalise details so that we can then promote the run. Please feel free to come and contribute your fourpennyworth. We start by running around the lake however many times you want to finish in time for us to meet in the cafe on site at 12. We will listen to and consider points of view from anyone who comes.

OK folks, a quick reminder, we have another run at Draycote water on Sunday to pull the last details together. Hopefully we will be able to make a firm announcement after the meeting and get the show well and truly on the road.

In brief, and to be confirmed:

Date: march 8th 2009
Time: 10 am
Venue: Draycote Water, near Rugby, Warwickshire
Entires: On line through runners world, opening as soon as we have final official sanction from UK athletics.

I'm hoping to get there around 10.30 for a couple of laps if anyone wants to join me. Looks like it's going to be a bit nippier than it was in August!
