How wet was that! Time scales are strarting to close in on us now.

Have decided that we should start the race at 10am - it might be a little harder for travellers to get to us (just get up earlier you lazy b's) but it will allow the race to finish in reasonable time.

Rugby 10 is on at Draycote on the 9th November - will turn up then to see how they organise it.

Full update later.

Sorry I didn't make it. I got as far as junction 15 of the M1, even with the windscreen wipers on double speed I couldn't see a thing thanks to rain and the spray from lorries, panicked, pulled off the motorway and drove very slowly home. JJ thanks for the lovely understanding message, and hope today went well

Oh, decisions, decisions. I'm torn now.

On the one hand, huge loyalty to Mick & Phil. But getting to Draycote would mean my wife giving up her day, as I'm a non-driver.

On the other hand, my home town Milton Keynes Half is on the same day. I've run it every single year since it started. And I can get to the start in 10 minutes.

Awful dilemna.

Hashette, sounds horrible. Feeling guilty that I wimped out of the journey too but at the same time a bit better given your description of the M1.

JJ - hope you got text? Apologies for the no show but my marshalling duties over ran. It would have been nice if someone came round after the last cyclist instead of leaving me out in the rain for an extra 15 minutes but that is by the by. After I went through a red light I on the way home silver rather put her foot down and said I was not belting up the motorway in this weather!

Sensible decisions both Nightjar and Hashette. It was atrocious out there - not just on the Motorways but also round the lake. We did what we needed to. We have set the ball rolling now to try to start up the publicity, and i will be in touch with you both to sort out some delegations if you are up for it.

Come on Tim. it's a one off. It will be full of fetchies and mrs tim doesn't have to give up her day. Leamington Spa is 10 miles away and it is a fabulous shopping centre for her while you're running. then we can reccommend some good restaurants or pubs to treat her in afterwards. Be careful though, don't make it so good she will always want to come with you. :)

Leamington Spa. We had a fab day there. Perhaps, we could do an over-nighter. Shoe shopping in the afternoon, romantic candle-lit meal in the evening, all-item full English brekkie on race-day morning.
