I know where Nadiya was brought up, it's under a mile from my childhood home. She's a Lutonian to be proud of.

I thought Selasi was star baker - by a mile from the comments they made as they went along.

I thought it would be Selasi or Benjamina.

I was expecting Selasi (highly so), but I think his lack of a mirror finish let him down.

Exactly that, Weean. It was one of the points of the challenge so they could hardly award it to him however great the cake. But he looks a contender doesn't he?

Selasi to win, I know it is early days, but cool name, cool in general.
I think they got the right person, never make a dry spone, EVER, any one of 3 could have gone, bright green tea cake would have got my vote.
I spent 20 minutes trying to think who Candice reminded me of.
Edward Scissorhands.
Awful cake nonsense too.

Yes indeed, Edward Scissorhands. Why would you want to look like him?
The thing with early front runners such as Selasi though, is they quite often fail at nearly the last hurdle. Certainly looking good so far though.

Mel and Sue (especially Sue) 'looking for a poke in the eye' already in this household. How the contestants resist punching them we'll never know. Perhaps it's edited out...

Nothing is certain in Bake Off. Star baker one week, eliminated the next.
