Craggy Been injured hence my slowest half since 1996. Wouldn't have run a half just yet but this was my 20th consecutive Newark half marathon so didn't want to miss it.
Superb organisation as always.

Hanvet Garmin time - serious backlog at the start meant it took a good minute to cross the line, and another minute to get started running. Nice run, shame my legs weren't up to it!

Mrs Jigs (Luverlylegs) Doing this at marathon pace - Start is a real bundle with slower people inc walkers right up the front! Parked cars! Made me a bit irritated to say the least, even though this is the 3rd time of taking part I am not sure that there is much to like about this run other than the finish area, the route is boring, not too undulating so that is a plus, fair amount of water stations that were much needed in the heat so a thumbs up for that too :) Did the first 6 miles faster than marathon pace as I was tempted to try for a PB however the severe stitch during mile 7 and 2 enforced stops to try to stretch it out put paid to that idea :( During this time another lady from my category came storming past me, the stitch was to uncomfortable for me to be able to respond. I stopped at 2 water stations as I wanted to be sure I kept hydrated. Had a blast in the final mile and finished in1:39:07 which was on target. I was very surprised to finish 1st in category (£25), seems the other lady was a late entry so didn't qualify for prize, on being presented with my prize everyone sang Happy Birthday LOL :) lovely to see Fetchies (too many to mention) and lovely of Jobe to great me with hugs & birthday wishes as we arrived :)

Rich963 Ran this as a long effort session, aiming at 7.30 pace, which I would never have managed on my own. Enjoyed it, even with tired legs after yesterday's LSR.

Slider45 Looking forward to the race. Very hot last year so unless the weather changes, fancy that a cooler day may improve time. Would love to pb but it's a challenge as by best was on the flatter Brass Monkey course. Still, in pretty good shape so you never know...
UPDATE. Pretty happy with run/time. Not particularly close to pb but ran well, held my position and gained a couple of places at the end. Slowed from 9m due to the undulations but overall a 20s improvement on last year.
