Thanks, SPR. I can never remember all the details of what goes into what. It's interesting that Firstbeat's graphic illustration of recovery time suggests what training you are ready for even when recovery is not complete. The Garmin implementation does not bring this out so clearly, and I suspect some people think they need to recover completely before the next outing firstbeatanalytics.com

Hardly, jelly, just trying to get my WAVA back after a lack of speedwork for a couple of years during lockdown and much flying back and forth to NL before that. Thank you for taking the underscores out of your name :)

The UTMOST WAVA game-tables help a lot, since one can make clear speed progress while still moving like a tortoise in absolute terms. I recommend them for older HR trainers!

Does anyone know if the Recovery HR on the Garmin watches is logged anywhere?

I've taken to using it when I come back from a run but it doesn't seem to show anywhere on Connect.
Is it pointless or is it actually worth checking?

It is recorded in the .fit file, and sites like Runalyze can display it.

Great, thanks.
Seems odd that Garmin themselves don't seem to use it but other sites do!

Yep, very odd that they don't seem to at least display it as part of the activities summary. Before I started running I always understood that a really solid measurement of "fitness" was the ability to recover HR downwards well, so it feels like the sort of "lay persons" fitness measure that they would be keen to promote.

Accepting of course that it is a flawed measure because it depends on the intensity that is being recovered from etc etc.

It gives you a from and to measure so I don't really see how it's flawed.

What it actually means is a different question though.
