Marcus Lovely day, scenic course, good competition, enjoyed it! Wish I'd checked the map a bit more carefully and remembered that there were three climbs! Every race should have a beer tent at the end!

Raisty Raist after the first 3 km of directly uphill got a distinct feeling of de javu from last year where ran the first 3km fast and then was just nackered all the rest of the way

Sidman Very tough race. Expected to be similar to last years Grizedale 10 but it was loads harder. Really enjoyed it, however, and will be back next year.

Running Beard That was hot but great fun to have done again. Coffin Trail was just as hard steep as last time but as the T shirt says I survived.

Kev Scone OK so it's prediction time, did not know what to expect last year and predicted 1.30 did 1.40, so this year i am aiming for 1.30, but DONT BET ON IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

An improvement on last year, not bad considering i'd been feeling pretty down and hadn't trained properly for last fortnight, the company lifted my spirits however and was glad to oblige with some points for all those who bet on me, now STOP IT! Post race pretty good too.Has to go down as my favourite race weekend so far. Now to start marathon training, whoops only 3 weeks, is there a get fit quick course out there anyone?

Why is it every time i do a trail race despite PBing my ranking points go down :-(

DANBERT The race started and finished at Hawkshead village, and was mainly along well marked footpaths and bridleways. The views of Lake Windermere and the surrounding peaks of the Coniston Hills, the Langdales and most of the Lakeland fells were absolutely panoramic. The event as a whole had a superb atmosphere. The big down side for me though was that I wilted, withered and drooped in the heat. I was actually going well, negotiating the first hill with no problems and steadily passing people. I actually thought I was running controlled and within myself. When we got to the water station at the pub and the sharp left turn up to the second hill however, I noticeably began to weaken (flagging so much that I had to walk sections of this hill.) By the time I was faced with the coffin trail I'd faded away and was mentally beaten and was just in survival mode. I'll definitely be back though.

KinkyS Brilliant brilliant fun, fantastic scenery, great atmosphere, loved it! Plodded round very easily on post-FLM legs and sore feet, plenty of time to enjoy the views :-)

SparkyMark Well coming from a part of the country that is flat with a few bumps in it - this should be a challenge. *UPDATE* I am sure there is not enough room to put everything down. tribute to PURPLE HAZE will be made in blog when I get to it - its going to be an epic. This was the toughest race I have done so far. Loved it - truly loved it, just need to trust myself on the descents! This though was more about the weekend than just the race itself. I had a fantastic weekend, my abductors are reminding me that I had a punishing race. When can I sign up for next year? FETCHIES ROCK!

Haggis Must be mad - 6 days after FLM !!! UPDATE : What a race. I was absolutely amazed at how good the legs felt before, during and after considering I had London the week before (as did a few others). Thoroughly enjoyed the race, felt I was flying on the 'level' and downhills, just need to improve the uphill bits...

As advertising for the area it couldn't have been any better.

Thanks to all the Fetchies for a great weekend, Ullswater anyone???

Lisrun The slideshow on the website, make this look a very attractive run. No idea how I will do. *AFTER* Enjoyable, but tough with three big climbs. Liked the skeleton with the race number at the base of the third hill - nice touch !

Hoaxster oh good god. Update: Was flying 'till 10K then went bang in a very big way. Gutted as the race itself was fantastic, plus there was a vast heap of Fetchy love smothered all over it. Suppose I'll have to race it next year and take about 20 minutes off that monstrosity of a time then....and not get absolutely pickled the night before. A blog entry of epic proportions will fill in the vast and gaping blanks left by this report.

Cavey That was so much harder than I was expecting, but really pleased with the time. It was all ticking along quite nicely until that Coffin Trail ascent!!! Legs turned to jelly after that which made the descents interesting!! Said i'd never do it again, but the memories of the pain have already disappeared.........so roll on next year!!

Siouxsie Trail race cherry popped and i loved it, even the 2 steep climbs and the attempt to kill me on the coffin....as well as the perilous downhills. The ''rolling'' countryside sections were fab, bright, warm, breezy and fast....and the views too. Wanted to go sub 2, and considering how hard proper runners found the course i am really chuffed with my time. I think i can say my stress fracture is healed.lol. The support round the course helped and with 800m to go Puudi and Hippyclick gave me a welcomed cheer with the customary ''Go Fetchy''.Thanks girls. I am surprised to have not been much slower, considering my prep...and not just recovering from injury. I had waaaay too much alcohol the night before which just means next year i can do the same and maybe run faster too.lol.
What a fab weekend in all respects.I finally met some more of my very fetching friends and made new ones too:o) Next stop Garburn..

Two Towels. Superb race, my longest Fell race in the lakes distance wise so far, and with 2208 ft of climb, it was tough, but really enjoyed it, would have more so minus a hangover from hell mind!

Zeb Not ideal preparation - wasn't actually running this race until 2 days before hand. Loved the down hills, and the flattish bits - couldn't do the hills at all. Might be back in a year or two after some prep to take a big chunk off the time. And my lovely lovely husband who has run all of 20 miles this year did it with me.
