rf_fozzy Suffered from too much hockey the day before and a mild heat stroke so ran much slower than I was hoping.

giggsy Using this as a warm up for the Nottingham Marathon the following weekend and as a possible indicator as too what pace I should be aiming for in the marathon.

Warm day but pace felt comfortable, the uphill last 800m put stop to any sprint finish but happy I held a steady pace all the way round without feeling I was on dead legs. Roll on the marathon in Nottingham next weekend!

Clarky Entered, Did have to think about it as £22 is a bit steep! I am ready for a PB at this distance, I think the course is relatively flat so, fingers crossed. Wave A behind Elites! No.498. Very pleased with the time as course was a little tougher than i imagined and not very scenic. The finish was particularly tough on my weary legs, as it seemed to continually climb over the last 800 metres. Was late getting to the start and just managed to get in the orange section before they closed it off. Therefore, i missed my A wave start and had to weave through runners. I also forgot to start my stop watch at the start so, didn't have a clue what pace i was going for the first 2k. All in all very happy over a minute off my PB and finished in 148 place. Thanks to all those who bet on me.

Cavey The route looks pretty flat, and is essentially an out and back course. Don't think i'm in PB shape so will probably just go out and enjoy this one. I'm in Wave D.

**UPDATE** Bit disappointed with the time, was hoping for at least a minute quicker than that, but deep down thought I had a chance of a PB. The PB was soon out of the window when what I thought was a flat route turned out to be quite undulating. A steady incline for the first 5k, which really took it out of me. Made up a bit of time on the second 5k, but the last 600 - 800m was fairly steep (or at least it felt that way), by which time I had nothing left. Think they need to sort out the seeding of the waves though, there were some decent local club runners in my wave and the wave behind while there were some people in the waves ahead that were walking after about 3k, which made it pretty congested until about 7k. All in all though a good fun family event, with a nice t-shirt and medal making it almost worth the 22 quid.

DaveM1962 Sheffield is a hilly town, so maybe I shouldnt have expected anything but hills. However the 3k or so uphill to the turn sapped all my strength, and suffered downhill. The final uphill to the finsih did me in!

philbo Hoping for another good run , training going well at the moment so fingers crossed , also a staggered start makes it a bit easier for a good time. :: Update :: Very satisfied with the days efforts, any enjoyable race well organised a few steady rises on the out lap which gets you breathing alright !! only a couple of grumbles the finish is all up hill from about 400mts thanks for that then ! and my garmin told me i had done the distance and i still had 100 mts to go , now i started it on the 1st mat at the start so i don't know what happened ?

DeeGee I got let down by terrain in Belvoir. This is on road, I suppose, even if Sheffield is a pretty hilly city!
***Offical time*** 01:00:36. The route WAS quite flat, given that it was Sheffield, with long, steady, shallow climbs. Apparently the first 5k was mostly uphill, and the last 5 was mostly downhill. The last KM seemed quite steep to me.

I've watched the video that my wife made of me in the finishing straight. Not looking as comfortable as in past races. I've got a pulled calf muscle to contend with as well, but it doesn't seem too bad. Take it easy this week I suppose...

I've got a goal for 2008, though- sub 60 minutes 10k- must be possible!
