Sunbed Athlete Garmin registered 13.2 so that was good to know as I was just outside my PB.
Led from start to finish & felt good considering its my 1st half since Sept last year & only my 4th race of this year.
Well organisied race. The bus journey out to Balloch was where the sleet/hail etc was chucking it down but thankfully during warm-up/race/cool-down it stayed away.Got £80 in Sweatshop vouchers.
Great runs by gokeith,Hankkies who PB'd....WELL DONE LADS.

Scobos 8th place, 3rd Bella counter for the 1st team prize. Ran with (well, mainly behind!) Hannkies for the first 5 or 6 miles. Never really got the forecast tailwind anywhere! Well done to all finishers...those conditions were pretty tough in places. Did no-one else think the road crossing at 12 miles was a bit dodgy???

hannkies PB in my first half in a year so happy. Good to know I seem in decent shape, always think to run close to you're best times at this time of year bodes well. Probably was on course for around the low 77/ high 76 mark at one point but deffo can't complain too much. 11th overall and 2nd V40 ( behind my good mate GoKeith - top marks buddy ), and well done to everyone who ran including Kerry, Connell, the Bella guy's and ChrisU whose well on course for his London target. Mile markers a bit out, but a top organised race nevertheless.

bedlam_g Tough into the wind in places but very happy with 12 place and a 1 Minute PB despite my Garmin showing 13.2 miles. 10 miles in 59.07 then tired a little bit for the final 3.2. Might do Alloa now for a sub 78.

ChrisU Nowhere near a PB, but still quite happy with the result, seeing it was faster than any half marathons I ran last year, and I felt like I was taking it pretty steady most of the way.

connelld I was looking for a PB in this race but lost out by 18 seconds. Good course though and well organised. Garmin's may have measured course as long but I would rely on the SAF more so than 99% GPS accuracy. Well done to local, Sunbed Athlete for winning and club runners Keith (4th Overall) and Scott for winning 1st and 2nd Vet respectively. Also good to see Wil E Coyote back racing again.

AlanO Reasonably Content, ran strong until 11mile mark when the legs started to tire a bit. Overall overtook 12 runners and was only overtaken once. Hoping for much better at the next Half. Marathon training starts for real now.

rleyton Mainly a training run ahead of London, so found a pace and stuck with it, and pleased with the result (up to 10 mile marker, at least). Glad the weather (snow, sleet and driving rain!) held off for the race itself. Just a bit taken aback to be refused a cup of tea at the end though! Madness I tell you.

purephase Garmin indicates that i ran just over 13.1k so I may have started the timer before the starting line, which seemed a bit of a hit and miss where it started.

Tick Tock Tim Pretty pleased with time overall. Season aim is to beat 1:45 and as first 1/2m this year, got to be pleased. Weather was looky distinctly iffy when we set off, chest pains after 3 miles til about 5 slowed me down. Then felt better 6 onwards when the wind went away. Endurance obviously needs worked on as 8 miles onwards was hard but kept plugging away. Must have been hunched over as sore shoulders now.
Well marshalled, zero spectators not surprisingly due to strong winds?, nice paperweight. One race I would consider doing again. Like other comments, I think some of the mile markers were out.

gilly b Early start and snow blizzards! Thankfully we didn't encounter this during race. Felt good for 1st 9 miles, on track to get under 1:50 and then struggled last few miles, very glad to see the finish line today! Still managed to knock almost 2 minutes of previous best time, magic!

mad4it Most races run tend to be around the 2hrs 15min mark, i will be trying to finish before this, new course for me, reading the garmins at 13.2 i would have finished earlier and beat the 15mins, it was cold but the run itself was good and i would certainly go back next year to beat this years time.Loved the paperweight at the end.
