May as well start planning now :-)

We had an exhaustingly lovely day yesterday. We're so grateful to all the Fetchies who turned up to show their support alongside us; and to the runners who gave such good value with their waves, smiles and sweaty hugs. It's a great feeling, and one we want to make sure will continue for many years to come.

I know that the one thing that will lift the entire experience to a whole new level is if we can get more of you along to join us. In theory, it's a long day, especially for those of you who try to get there early to set up - and we wondered if that was a factor. But with bunting replacing balloons (and balloon blowing), the set up now is relatively straightforward for Katie and me to take care of, and what we need most of all is people to come along and join us, ideally in the window between about 9am and 3pm. After 9am, the course starts getting busy, and muggles start eyeing up any gaps along the fence.

Other things we've thought of:

1) We'll get bigger flags. A lot of other supporters have whoppers, and ours are actually designed to go in the back of pacing backpacks, so they're not so big and easy for muggles to fold out of their way.
2) More free lager :-) I picked up a crate of Fosters from Texaco, which helped to lubricate a few throats :-)
3) More oranges and other fruit. They went down extremely well with the runners after all the processed sugar. They're surprisingly heavy to transport, but we reckon that next year we can buy more in a London supermarket on the Saturday and hoard them at our B&B, which was really close to the start.

I'd welcome your ideas on how we can improve on the experience for the people on both sides of the fence. But mainly, I'd love it if you'd watch this thread as an indicator that you're willing and able to support our London Fetchpoint; and if you've benefited from our presence, or enjoyed being present, share your stories too. It's a special part of the Fetch calendar, and we'd like to ensure it remains so in the future.

Inspiring pics from this year to follow soon :-)

I'm hoping to come down next year. I've enjoyed every Fetchpoint I've done. But had to be sensible this year.

That bunting looked amazing! :-)

I was sorely tempted to join you this year, but I had to get my own 2 hour 20 minute run in for my marathon in 2 weeks time. I couldn't see me doing it before heading to the smoke, and knew I wouldn't want to do it after. So I hope to join you next year and will plan my own marathons round it!

If I don’t strike lucky on the ballot I’ll be keen to be part of the cheerers. MrS missed fetchpoint so I agree about the larger banners and yes the oranges were the best thing, especially for the slower runners as they tend to run out first so we rarely get any! Thank you so much

I was hoarding my last few oranges for later Fetchies. I want to come again next year, but will need to think about steroids or something - I had quite a reaction to that tree pollen and am still a bit wheezy, tell me it was worse than usual this year.

I really missed being at Fetchpoint this year! Having been the beneficiary of lots of hugs, sweets, and a G&T during my marathon in 2013, I’ve been as a supporter every year since, but couldn’t make it yesterday. It's a truly magical and emotional day, and I even welled up just seeing the banner on the BBC! Will be back next year with bells on!

Definitely got a mental boost from the support on both times past Fetch Point. The orange was also a godsend, although I could done with a new pair of legs on the second passing! Your presence was very much appreciated!

Thanks again guys, loved the cheers on the way out, and the knowledge that a friendly pit-stop was coming really helped when things got tough around Canary Wharf
