Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Probably showing my age here Derby Tup ...

Sit in Whitelocks, pretend that that they still serve Youngers No3, and reminisce about:
The Underground (round the back of the T&C), Le Phono, The Wardrobe.
Followed by another pint in The Duck & Drake.

That should keep you busy for a week..!

Actually, has anyone mentioned the Cat Trail in York?

It's a good way to walk around the streets and spot many of the cat statues on the various buildings of the city.

You can get a free leaflet from shops or you can download.

Cat trail is an excellent way to see the city and really notice the buildings.

I've not been for about 30 years. York Minster, walking along the city walls and the railway museum certainly spring to mind.

We also did a boat trip and ours crashed into another!

We had a fabulous Sunday roast last summer 😋

Came home yesterday after a couple of days in York Derby Tup
Will blog in detail

In short, enjoyed a ghost walk setting off from the front of the Minster on Wednesday night, he pointed out a lot of the cats too
Walked the walls Thursday morning, couldn’t do a boat trip as the river was rising, by Friday morning the benches we’d been sat on Thursday were under water :-O
Joined a guided tour round the Minster

Ate lovely food and walked lots enjoying that the city is mainly pedestrian only during the day

:)
