hellen, the 40 is the last bit of the 85, but in the opposite direction. It starts near Avebury, whereas the 85 starts near Tring. Both are worth doing!

Oh and well done kinky! :-) I felt the same about the first half - it was a great route. Grim's Ditch was my favourite bit.

It sounds like you had a tough one, but you'll have developed huge mental strength for the future.

Grim's ditch is just fantastic running, some of my favourite running anywhere.

The first half seems so much more scenic than the second with it's rutted and flinty tracks.

But good scenery would be wasted on us when all we can see is the small patch ahead of us illumiated by our Petzls. ;-)

OH has just said he doenst think I can do 2 marathons is 2 days (ie the ridgeway 2 day thing), he said I woudl be too tired.

Absolutely nothing about running!!!

Well, he does know a bit, he has found himself advsing a few work collegues on some running things like tapering and socks recently!! He said that they have no idea!!! So, he does listen a bit to me!!
