Mrs Jigs (Luverlylegs)
I can only recall seeing the first edition, I didn't realise the magazine was a regular thing.

My daughter since the start of her parkrun career, about 19 months, ago, just took a screenshot of her parkrun and that works like a dream. There is always a backup plan ;-)

Perhaps the magazine pays for itself with advertising? How are they supposed to be distributed? I don't think I've ever seen a physical copy.

At my local there is occasionally a few of them at token scanning. I think on one occasion that I can remember, the RD encouraged anyone who worked in a surgery, dentist, etc to take a load of them but I’m not sure if there were any takers. I did take a copy of the first one but haven’t bothered with subsequent ones.

Events get asked how many they want. I can't remember how many we got of the first one but we asked for a lot less of the next one, still struggled to give that away and I don't think our EDs have requested it since. I think the idea was originally that the events would distribute copies to places where people who are not already involved with parkrun would be able to pick it up but those places have to agree to have a pile of them and the volunteers have to be willing to distribute them - I think we tried with the cafe at our venue but they didn't really want them cluttering the place up as I recall and while it's perhaps a nice idea that people would take half a dozen to leave at this or that cafe/pub etc who really has the time to do that?

Also I think the magazine was not event specific so even if we had been able to leave a few in the cafe where we are, people reading it would not necessarily know there was a parkrun at our venue (it is a huge location and you can't see the runners from the cafe even if there at 9 on a Saturday)

We got shoved a parkrun magazine at junior parkrun two weeks ago. It'll probably go largely unread.
