Usually early to mid-May when you find you've been generally rejected. From past experience, you can check your details on the entrants list and see the words "NOT ACCEPTED" near you name which tells you to enter something else. The email confirming this arrived the day after I did this (2008)so already knew. Didn't get an email in 2007. Will be my 3rd rejection in a row this year so guaranteed entry next year if that's the case.

New York or Berlin, new york has the atmosphere, but Berlin is flatter & better organised ?

SS - me too the breakfast run to the Olympic stadium on the Saturday was great, the Sweet playing at the Brandenburg gate, free open air concert on the Saturday night & then the race on Sunday a perfect weekend, topped off by a PB & Haile breaking the world record
must add some of those Breakfast run pics to the Gallery

Ah, the memories of Haile's WR and how he could have run the marathon twice and still finished 15 mins before me!
Missed that open air concert but did get the free beer though after the race.........something NYC doesn't give out as far as I'm aware.

I've done Berlin and NY and I enjoyed both. I thought NY organisation was spot on; the only slight drag is getting up so early to get bussed to the start, but everything else was super smooth.
