Finally - after <@>mr d</@>'s excellent suggestion on the previous page I got to the Thomas Wolsey pub in Ipswich and had a pint of Brewer's Gold. Three other cask ales on too so I think I will be visiting this pub again sooner than 25 years which is approximately when I last visited. It was very weird having the first night out in 'town' (OK Ipswich but still our nearest big town) in two years. It was almost as exciting as how a night out in London would have been pre-pandemic.

I can't get the hang of that tagging either.

My local was shut from Christmas Eve and New Year..Covid, quite worried as I popped in on the 23rd. Tested myself silly for a few days.

Still it gave them the chance to revamp the bar, and make a bit of space. They now have 5 cask, 4 'continental' lagers and 5 keg...Good use of the new space I think.

mr d, BaronessBL was calling you :-)

Sounds good Ocelot Spleens, is it quite a large place, to have enough throughput to keep everything fresh?

Yes. I had a chat with the landlady. Thongs are picking up. The pub is just down the road from the station, more people popping in after work and pre-going out. Ladt5night is the busiest I had seen it in months. Post Crimbo pay day!

Glad you enjoyed it Baroness, Brewers Gold is a great pint. There are some really good beer pubs in Town despite it not being the most vibrant Town Centre.

Need to get back out to the Spread Eagle, Briarbanks, Arcade St Tavern, 3 Wise Monkeys, The Dove as well as the Thomas Wolsey. Also slightly out of town Greyhound, Woolpack, Duke of York and The Fat Cat. It's hard to organise a pint at the mo let alone a pub crawl hopefully in the summer.

Love the Greyhound and we would have gone there last night except we parked near the Thomas Wolsey and didn't want to go on to anywhere else that would mean moving the car again especially as there is pretty much no car park at the Greyhound now. And I haven't been to the Fat Cat in a while either

Oh. News.

St. Peters have given up the licence on The Jerusalem Tavern. It's not closing, new owners, new name.
