How do the featured blogs get chosen?
Is it random..... with weighting for new people..... or blogs with interesting words in them.... or is there some little fetch elf somewhere, reading them all, and thinking, "Ooh, that looks interesting!!"
My blog's been featured several times.... and always gets more views when it is. Surprise surprise.

Does the number of views also come into the reckoning? And the time for which the blog has been displayed? Always wondered.

I think it helps if you include the following:
1 A suggestive title to suck people in.
As an example, blogs with a title like "I got pissed last night and woke up with a a used condom stuck to the side of my head" will always feature. Even if, on clicking on the blog, it's about the writer's 784th place in the Luton Marathon.
2 Some sexual content.
Even if no-one else was present.
3 A good "woe is me" title is always a winner.

I thought it was views, not comments? And it only counts for 24 hours.

It's comments. We used to have a little doorbell to vote for a blog to be featured back in the old days. There was also a top bloggers list which showed the people who had wrote the most blogs.
