Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I recently read Adharanand Finn's new book, Rise of the Ultrarunner, and he talked about Gary Ward and his Anatomy in Motion techniques and practices. I'd also seen the episode on Doctor in the House where Dr Rangan Chatterjee used similar techniques on a man with a back problem.

My feet are driving me crazy, what with their lumps and bumps and numbness, and I recently saw a physio who gave me strengthening exercises to do. There was no physical examination of my feet beyond a visual one, an approach which I understand is becoming common now, and I'm not saying that it's wrong (what do I know, after all?), but I can't say there's been much improvement, if any.

I'm wondering if anyone has been treated using the AiM methods, or has any inside knowledge? Appointment costs vary considerably between those who incorporate these methods, it seems, but none of them are cheap and I don't have money to throw away on a snake oil remedy (although this really doesn't sound like one).

If you're having foot problems then I should source a podiatrist who specialises in gait analysis runners, it worked for me.

Rosehip
Bump (because I found this whilst tagging)
- see also Helen Hall, some videos on vimeo. The movements she suggests are to open up joints that haven't been moving properly

- No idea whether or not this works, but following some of her advice does seem to help me run more often without getting sore

Got something to say?
