Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I’m in the Little Nemo and Autumnleaves camp, kneeling/sitting on my heals is painful, my knees don’t like being loaded in maximum flexion.

I don’t think I’ve been able to sit on my feet since primary school- quite possibly not even then. I’d make a better plank than elastic band

@DrMags how’s your crow pose coming on? Did you do week 2 of the YFS live classes (side crow etc)?

Thanks for asking, @lin50. I only did the 3 bootcamp days on replay well as repeating them (and making copious notes) until free access ran out. Definite improvement in my crow pose, and I’ve managed to use that skill/sense to help me with starting tripod headstand: I can just get my knees to the back of my arms so I can lift my feet and experience full weight on hands and head, but haven’t yet managed to get my legs raised. Still flummoxed by handstand though 🤣 Despite using the “cheat” of resting the back of my head against a bolster up against the wall, I just cannot kick up to the wall. I’m sure my leading leg remains a good 45 degrees off vertical no matter how much I push and grunt! I’m assuming it’s a combo of fear and lack of flexibility (I can only get my legs about 120 degrees apart in standing splits). Anyway, I’m currently more than happy to just work on being comfortable/confident with Crow and Headstand, especially getting used to the feeling of weight on my hands and head for a while. Still a rather trembly and sweaty experience 🫠

@DrMags sounds like you’re doing well. I can’t do handstand either….my legs just won’t kick up. I can do it if I turn the opposite way and ‘walk’ up the wall, but even then I can’t balance off the wall.

I’m impressed that you can walk up the wall @lin50 - i can’t even manage that yet 🙃 Still, I wouldn’t even be trying without YFS so thanks for the recommendation and to @Bintmcskint for the free link
