Omagh HM. chip time 1:23:42, 56th. Cold day, with mid-strength east wind. Not a great racing day really, and arrived a bit too late (with the big field, queues, car parking etc.) to even get much of a stretch, let alone a warm-up. Felt pretty good early on, but quite quickly started to struggle and may have started a bit keenly. Took a stitch at about 5.5m, and 6,7 and 8 were really quite a low point. Gaining on nobody and seeing the odd runner come past in 7 and 8 especially, which is not my bag at all. 9m onwards was decent, although 12 is a sod of a split - uphill and into breeze. One gel at 9.5m. My Garmin appears to read longer than most - everybody else's was beeping just before the mile markers, mine just after. So ended with 13.07m. HR spikes in mile 1, but 2 is genuinely 164 average. Supports the idea that I burned too many matches early on, especially going uphill in mile 2. Expected 83:xx, so can't feel too bad really. Based on past performance, that is *right* on the cusp of a 3h00 conversion.

Still a solid time Paul and you know you're well on target. It can be tight by the time you get parked and if you'd had a bit more time yous have been more relaxed. Hope you've warmed up now.

Converts well to that sub 3 hrs mate and is a good bench mark for April 21st
