Notes & Comments

Avon League 1500m. I didn't think I was going to do this race as I had no transport, but at 10:30 a.m. this morning, Peter Grist confirmed he could give me a lift. Preparation wasn't great with cycling around yesterday and staying up late/not eating well. Luckily it wasn't very windy (which is unusual for Yate) but the rain didn't hold off, so we got soaked, but I did manage to do some of my warm-up under the shooting shelter next to the track. I felt OKish before the race and going through the first lap in 73 actually felt really relaxed and relatively easy. I found myself in no-mans-land after that and faded a little, going through 800m in 2:28/2:29, but once I got to the bell in 3.28, I knew a 70-second last lap could get me a season-best, so managed to pick it up enough o do just that, running 71 and beating my SB by 0.3 seconds.
