Notes & Comments

Abingdon Marathon
R hamstring started to feel tight after about 5 miles, gradually getting worse, by 11 miles starting to shuffle, by 19 was in "get me home" mode. At 25 miles, Simon caught me up and gave me great encouragement to get going again to get under 4 hours.

Should be capable of 3:15. Not so much a 2 week taper but a 6 week "crash" due to exhausting hours at work. Went from having done ~50 miles a week (an effort but coped well) culminating in a 27 mile cross-country run at the end of August, to running only 15-20 miles a week with no long runs.

No wonder my leg disintegrated with so little training.
