Yorkshire Wildlife Park - 8:30am start so left home at 6:30am to pick up my friends and get there in time to collect race numbers. Very well organised event and we set off on time.
I really wasn't sure how this would go as I've struggled to run a mile non stop so decided to just go and do what I felt like on the day. I set off with my friend C, but she drifted ahead from 4km and finished 3 minutes ahead.
It was cold in the wind and warm in the sun, so I wasn't sure what to wear - jacket came off halfway round as did gloves, but I chose wisely as it had been cold to start with.
I'm amazed that I ran it all and at a similar pace to last week's parkrun. It's a lovely route, mixed terrain, passing some of the wild animals at the park - polar bears were loving the crowds, the rhino kept its distance and monkeys were out in force.

Ha ha - someone suggested that if the cheetah was released, to make sure we weren’t at the very back because it would get that person first.
