AngeM OMFG, a PB! I've been chasing 1:45 for a half marathon for 5 years!! Never got anywhere close to it, till today. Garmin said it was 13.2 miles as well! So unofficially a sub 1:45, okay, I won't get ahead of myself there! ;0) Chuffed to bits, I blarted like a big girl in the finisher's funnel (and on FF's shoulder) when I realised! As ever, a well organised, friendly race on a pretty course.

Chaz Dont know if I can hit my PB but will give it my best shot after a great Abingdon. Put it this way, get me to the 10 mile marker in 64.30 and I'll destroy my PB. First 10miles are for pacing, last 5k are for racing,,,

10 miles in 64.12 - then went for it. Just got under 1h23m on the chip. YES!

EarlyRiser A late race note. I should PB this one. That's about it really! POST-RACE. That was good! Another PB. Great course, good conditions, ran well. That's still about it really. Met some new faces, said hello to those I knew and good to see a lot of my club runners too.

flanker will be trying for a big PB
stinking cold ruined it for me. Went out to try for the PB: 7:31, 7:30, 8:30. As soon as I hit a hill it became apparent I had nothing to give. The next 10 miles were all about survival. Even the last 3 mile downhill stretch felt like it was uphill. Apparently it was a nice, PB-friendly course. I don't remember any of it, other than to me it felt slow and mountainous, not fast and undulating. Sorry to all those who bet.

Jigs Hard work, I knew a PB was out by about 3.5 miles. Let the pace drop a bit (like I had any choice in the matter) and hung on! Two weeks after marathon PB and not a lot of training in-between doesn't bode well for HM racing. PB for the course, so pleased with that :) Met some nice Fetchies today, which is always good :) Pub lunch of pie & chips to recover with :P

jolguk My friends tell me that the marshals were incredible and the course was lovely. I barely noticed, as I was feeling very sorry for myself in the throes of cold hell. But I'm glad that least I ran, when I'd been thinking about skipping it all week. And now I know there's a great PB course down there in St Neots. The main thing, though, was speaking to so many Fetchies - Ruth, Kinky and Flanker, Richk, Jobe, Forest Faerie... and seeing so many people do great times, including one of my friends on his very first half. . Brilliant stuff.

Mrs Jigs (Luverlylegs) A great event as usual, nice to see so many Fetch friends old and new :o) A PB was never on the cards although it is fair to say that I hoped for one, well be honest, most of us do, don't we? :o) I was going well for 1:38 but had stomach cramps throughout the run, the strong smell of onions at mile 9/10 finally tipped the balance of my delicate stomach and I had to dive into a field, tried to pick up the pace for the last 3 miles but it was already too late, I know it is only 2 weeks since NY mara but I am disappointed with my time. :-( PB for the course though so that's a positive :o) Love the technical shirt :o) enjoyed the meal after, thanks guys :o) A Big WELL DONE to all those who managed to get their dream PB's today!! also to those racing their first half :o)

RichMallaber Lovely course & great conditions to run in, the deer that ran in front of me was a very nice touch. Perhaps I hadn't recovered from Dublin fully - there's certainly more in the tank for improving this time. It was a nice surprise to see another Fetchie there from Manchester.

Vicksta Had the lurgy for the last two weeks and still bunged up and coughing, so not on top form. Enjoyed the race though, well marshalled, and special thanks to the 1:45 pacers who overtook me at 12 miles and wouldn't let me drop back behind them. Great T-shirt at the end too. Vindicator 1:33 is what McMillan says I can do off my 10K PB so I will attempt this. It will come down to quality of training on the run up to this - 1:35-6 may be more realistic.
UNOFFICIAL TIME: I nailed it! Probably my best run race ever. Controlled first half then went for it in the closing 5K. Had sooo much left for the final run in, I reckon I could have gone sub 1:33. Next time...
