I did a similar thing for sub 3s, and the below is copied from a different thread.

I saw there were 5168 sub-3s at Valencia, from 26245 finishers (nearly 20%). London had 3004/48792 (6%), and Boston had 4190/26624 (16%). CIM was also yesterday and is a course Americans use for olympic qualifying and there were 1467/9213 (16%). It’s amazing how quickly Valencia has cemented itself as a race that people go to try and get a fast time.

Always pleased to see the 'old' guys doing well, so good to see Bekele set a new masters world record there (2:04:19). I know the 63 year old Tommy Hughes was hoping for a rather better time than the 2:47 he got, but I'd be happy enough with that!

Hi speedy sub 2.45 runners :-)

I was wondering if anyone would share their experiences or tips for the champ start at London. I am assuming some of you have started from there. I know i should have my club singlet on but that's about it!

Would love to hear any pointers on what it's like

No knowledge here I’m afraid Chris, zero London experience.

But thought I’d jump on the thread resurrection in case anyone is targeting a sub 2:45 in the near future?

Hi Chris, the best thing is there's a big tent so if its wet you can stay dry and warm before the start. Other than that not much to say. The start is nice and free flowing even if you are near the back of the queue. Only slight downside is its a small enclosure so its not easy to do much of a warmup jog in.

Hi mate, Been on there 7 times. Its good. You get a warmup area, loads of toilets, a tent and baggage lorry. They just check your vest for any sponsorship as has to be a certain size, width etc.
