Wow, not heard of these before http://www.adidas.co.uk/Men%27s-BOUNCE%3AS-L/G01962_600,en_GB,pd.html?cgid=Running-Shoes "For a new class of running shoe, the adidas Porsche Design Sport BOUNCE™: S L does away with bulky foam technologies. Instead it uses a car-inspired suspension system for 20 percent more cushioning and 15 percent more elasticity than top running shoes of its class." Seriously, is anyone going to pay that for a pair of shoes !! |

trendy runner
apart from the price and not an asthetically pleasing design, I'd be forever picking stones out and the noise squishing the air & water out on every step!

Wouldn't like to clean them after treading in dog shit.... Re the cost, wondering if they last much longer, after all foam/gel shoes lose theire 'bounce' somewhere 300-500 miles when the rest of the shoe is 100% ok yet they still need replacing (I go through 4-5 pairs a year), maybe these spring things would last a year. Still not for me though... |

Ouch! Are we witnessing the birth of a new design, or is this just going to be a flash in the pan? I remember digital watches being expensive when they first came out as an example, but at the moment they (the shoes) seem the preserve of the well-off. Or at least those willing to take a gamble on these. Serious shoes? More like fashion accessory to me.

All the brands could make 'better' shoes with far superior technology than those that are presently on the market. However Adidas appear to be forging ahead despite the costs involved. It will be interesting to see if there will be many willing to pay the extra. I'm sure there will be some willing to pay though.

Perhaps they are hoping people will think it's cheap for a Porsche, rather than expensive for a pair of trainers? Branding, eh?
