A Rae in a manger
It has finally stopped raining.

The river through the village is (usually) very popular work canoeists, work a designated launch point maintained by the local council that has a long wooden ramp and an indicator stick that shows is the water level is dangerously low, or high (there are various bridges which become impossible to pass under when the water is too high).
Today the ramp was completely submerged, as was the danger scale on the indicator stick (just visible behind Shadow).

I wouldn't be surprised if some numpty still tries, though.

At the local weather station, as much rain recorded in one HOUR today as in the previous sixteen days. Excluded the one wetter day, a previous twenty-two days.

Just started spitting here, first rain in a month I think.
Not quite the thunderstorm we’re expecting yet.
