Interesting post Simon. So actually only about half the ALs are in the Lakes.

Trigger is point to point so can't be a champs race.
3P is unlikely to be a champs race again too

At least one of those in the lakes is a pairs race, so can't be a champs race too.

So it's quite a small pool of races to pick from (which was my original point).

Doctors gate, the kinder one and Axnfell are new ones to me - but given I currently can't run on the fells and haven't been able to for a couple of years, it's not a surprise they've passed me by

In addition, there was also Howgills AL. I never ran it, though pretty certain it's the one I recced with a friend, rather than Sedbergh Hills, but I always confuse the two. Doesn't look like it's been held since Covid though.

Maybe I'll keep this one in mind for next year, I've run up and over Ingleborough before as part of a 15 miler solo so I should be okay with it:

My biggest issue this year has been people walking getting in the way on the technical bits. Gives me the absolute rage as they are ruining the bit I am good at 😂

Those peaks ones in the list above look brutal, definitely not for beginners.

@paulcook Howgills was a great race. Like Sedburgh Hills it packed a lot of big grassy climbs into its 24 miles. It was organised by Adam Perry; I hope he'll start it up again.
