When I pondered parkrun options yesterday I thought we'd either end up at Goole (if we wanted to set off early) or Roundhay (if we didn't).
Which is clearly why we ended up at Potternewton. L saw a post saying they needed scanners and volunteered. This meant that I had to unpack some of my cycling stuff (helmet, shoes) to be able to cycle down there...
I had a decent run. 26.16 is a big course best for Potternewton and another one to add to my nice consistent run of 26s. I'm getting more confident that I'd be able to break 25 if I can consistently do low 26 on hilly courses with no pacer and not 100% effort, I just need the right combination of course and day.
Then home, cycling stuff and running shoes repacked, squirrels fed and it was time to head off
A stop for lunch and a walk. We were promised views of the Humber Bridge but were pretty much underneath it before we spotted it!
It got me to the end of this year's virtual challenge, the first time I've managed it before the next one starts, let alone before the end of the calendar year!
I've also got past my cycling target
Not much that was useful for the treasure hunt though, and not being at home much over Christmas means that our lights aren't that impressive, but they will have to do.
We're on the ferry, the refreshments card has been reloaded with euros, we have bikes but possibly more for two wheeled tourism than epic rides. Bring it on!
