As the boys get older, Christmas is becoming a bit more adult and less extended. We drove over yesterday morning planning a walk before meeting people at the carvery for 1.30, but it turned out that Dad and David were already here so the walk didn't happen.
First roast dinner (of three) was consumed before the panto, dumped bags at the Travelodge and walked back to A's for mince pies, mulled wine and games. We were offered a lift but I wanted a bit of fresh air!
Alan has now officially moved in (complete with a share of the third teenager) and there is a fourth teenager because G's girlfriend has been on the scene for long enough to have come to the panto for the last two years when did he get so old (also old enough to have procured a bottle of homemade limoncello from his job at an Italian restaurant...)
We were up in plenty of time for parkrun this morning. It was a bit damp but mild.
I hadn't realised that it's the first year the fylde has had a Christmas run - in previous years we didn't attempt to find one anyway. A big turn out and a course with a narrow twisty slippy bit through the woods (plus the indulgences of yesterday) meant I didn't want to aim for a time but ticked off another solid 26.##
And since then there have been presents, alcohol, food and Wallace and Gromit
And a first photo for the treasure hunt
