We didn't ride outside in the end yesterday. Bloody weather. So it was 90 minutes of endurance with Coco which was rather dull and gave me no inclination to extend the ride!
I finally got round to decorating the Christmas cake and doing a couple of other jobs, but didn't venture outside for treasure hunting.
We did have an evening CX party though, watching Diegem, drinking Belgian beer and playing beer tent music in the background.
Today we might ride outside... Except the wind was still howling when we got up. The afternoon might be better, but I had a structured session and while I'd have happily swopped it for endurance had the weather been good, it felt more sensible to get it done and hope for an improvement on Sunday/Monday (I've got no hope for tomorrow!). Plus I was expecting my new watch to be delivered I got it done but am getting a bit sick of watopia!
It was good enough weather for a walk though - windy but sunny. So off I went in search of holly/ivy and an outside Christmas tree. Had I gone in the other direction there is holly house vets, but I thought there was a tree outside the fish and chip shop so headed that way instead. But either it's not there this year or it's been taken down already. Christmas tree corner has packed up for the year with just a couple of forlorn undecorated trees outside. But then I found this.
This caught my attention, and it was only after crossing the road to see what I said that I realised it was surrounded by ivy.
And just next to it, there was some holly *and* ivy together. Bingo.
We're off out for our new year's meal tonight we were considering a local restaurant we've never tried in the evening for NYE itself but their NYE menu didn't seem to have a veggie option. We considered popping in to ask, then I realised that as we don't really stay out late on NYE anyway it probably isn't worth paying a premium when we could go tonight/tomorrow instead and drink the bottle of fizz we got given for Christmas with pizza on NYE.
