Great haul, Gromit. I've found the supermarket bags to be excellent value.

I got a Cooplands Bakery bag last minute. I’m collecting carvery trimmings from a chain pub at 8:30pm - I’ve not had one of those before

That's not bad, GM.

I'm curious about the carvery gig too. We get lots of them on the app round here (and some vegetarian Carvery bags too) but I've never bothered the timings have never worked for me and I wasn't too sure what I'd be getting.

The sausage rolls have been cut in 3 pieces each and the Bakewell slices have been halved and are still ample in size. All are in the freezer. Geoff and I shared the sandwich and doughnut for tea.

I quite like the carvery trimmings at the local one to me and the wife. They give you a box and you just fill it whatever veg you want that is left over, and gravy if any left. Occasionally if there are any left you might get a couple of pigs in blankets and Yorkshire puds, but they aren't guaranteed. The amount you can get in a box could do two people for a meal if you add some meat or a veggie option to it.

We got a Yorkshire pud, stuffing, selection of veg and pot of gravy. Plenty for 2

Then I went to Morrisons and got a bag from there.

It was a bit of a gamble getting 3 bags in one day but has worked out well for us.

I’ve ordered Aldi bags yesterday and the day before and had them both cancelled. Then this evening, a late one appeared so I grabbed it. Lots of bread products and a selection of fruit and veg. Plus a big pot of Greek yoghurt, sell by 25/11 but missing its lid. Not bad for £3.30

Have you rescued any Magic Bags today?

I've had the Too Good to Go app on my phone for a few months but not had any success with finding any Magic Bags of food that needed saving near me. If you've not come across it, local shops, cafes and pubs offer bags of unsold food at discounted prices as long as you can collect within a short window of time just before they close, usually.
Today I've reserved 2 bags from Cooplands bakery in our local little town, to be collected 3-3:15p...
