Nelly
I'm still undecided but all advice greatly appreciated, thanks.

I suppose the biggest concern with runnning a 1/2 at PMP is it could cause confidence problems if I'm not "full of beans" at the end.

I'm planning to run a half at PMP a month before my target marathon. I expect to be tired at the end because I won't be tapering into it and I'll be near the end of a heavy (for me) training period.

clare - can you stick me in the header for Windermere on 20/5. Will be off the back of UTLD training, rather than any fast stuff, but worth a crack as it's a fast course :-)

Might even have a crack at VLM, depending what mood I'm in after the first five miles.

FR - can you elaborate on Gobis advice (progressive) for me please? Sounds v useful

Nell - I ran my half mara PB 6 days before my maapra PB (Cardiff Half 1.28.28 then Snowdonia 3.42.23). Not wise perhaps but it was my plan all along! Now I'm just a fat knacker :-)

Re my Stafford 20 - I wasn't concerned that I'd didn't run PMP all the way, nor that I couldn't, I was worried (too much so?) that I was shattered after fifteen miles after a week of low mileage. But other factors... My calf was dodgy, I am on antibiotics for a lung infection and the antibiotics I'm on strongly advise that I avoid sunlight (it wa sunny, I got Burned!).

So maybe, I'll be ok for near 330. Sub would be platinum.

BVRB - this is (c) the dark lord

Advice from Gobi:

5 miles @ MP + 60-90( time to get loose so start close to 90 and work down)
5 miles @ MP + 45-60
5 miles @ MP + 30-45
4 miles @ MP
1 mile however you like
1 mile cool down

No idea BVRB, my guess is it's down to how you feel? It shouldn't be classed as an 'A' race, its about prep for the 'A' race.

Ah, so that's a plan for a race not just a training run? I could try it on my own perhaps?
