Started running back in 2000 but stopped soon after a second Flora LM, traumatic time at work, birth of first child etc etc etc. Having gone up a few trouser sizes, and got totally unfit, decided in 2010 that it was time to start again after a break of 6 years. Started with run/walk around the local park (0.7 miles) and after a few weeks could manage a whole circuit without stopping. In 2011 I had new PBs for 10K and 1/2 marathon. By 2019 I'd had another break from running (about 2 years this time) and another increase in trouser size, I decided it was time to get back running again. Started in February. Did my first ever park run in October...It's now 2024 and following an injury I'd had another 2 year break and this time I had gone up quite a few trouser sizes. But joined slimming world with MrsT and in February started running again...The SW is keeping me accountable so let's try and keep it going this time.

A mix of forest and coastal footpath. Early enough to catch the sunrise but not so early to need a head torch. About 10-15km. Warm. |
