I used to run competively in my younger days, I ran for my local home town club, and also ran for my County. Got a serious injury when I was younger so stopped running, took up coaching for a little bit. I ran xcountry, road races, track 5,000, 10,000 and 3,000 steeplechase. My own personal achievements I ran a 10k road race when I was 16 and acheived a PB of 31:24, came 3rd in the Munster JUNIOR 3,000 mtr steeplechase, came 9th in the ALLIRELAND XCOUNTRY CHAMPS IN 1987 just missing a place for the Irish team.
