Notes & Comments

Hitchin Hard Half - what a great event! It's all about expectations and I was expecting the hills, particularly the first big one, to be horrendous - but actually I didn't find them so. Even the big hill was not as steep as the Wimpole hill, so even though it was a lot longer I was able to keep running up it, which was the aim after all. After that there were smaller hills which was good but none to really challenge. I think I ran this exactly as I set out to; under control the whole way but still working hard. Didn't much like the first half mile or so on the grass and twisted my ankle after about 30 seconds, but it picked up once we got on to the roads. Great marshalling, more than enough water in little bottles. Perfect weather. Really glad I did this. Nice medal too.
