Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Notes & Comments

my first non walk all run mararthon!!!! not the best april day in llanelli but it was challenging not impossible so it wasnt too bad, plus coming back in the last 3 miles with the wind was nice :)
decided to go out at a fairly comfortable pace but was around 15secs a mile slower than i wanted to be but as i was thinking about going a but faster i had a slight issue with a tight/a bit painful left calf so i decided to go stick with the 8:45ish pace. really pleased with my consitency and mind set (this was definately improved by listening to podcasts). my overall energy was better than previous marathons, that was at least part due to me vigilantly sticking with my gel strategy of one every four miles.

i went through half way in a simular time to 2010 so i had to battle some demons that told me that sub 4 wouldnt be on but i kept on going as the rain came in the second half. it occured to me around 19 miles that i didnt need to walk-run so i decided to carry on a cut my pace slightly against the wind between 18 and 23 miles, i think this helped the non stop run!!! at the 23 mile turn back i could see that if i kept on running sub 4 was on so i gritted my teeth and with the help of the rich eisen podcast and the wind i kept on going to the bitter end knocking over 20 mins of my pb!!!! very pleased :)
