Notes & Comments

Salford 10K - got up nice and early so i could have an easy 4 mile ride to Salford Sport Village for the Good Friday race. Started in the middle of the pack to give myself a steady start, the plan was to go even paced at 4:00/km. Followed Jerry for about 3km exactly on pace but as I drew level thought it was best to push on further as he tired. My first few mile splits were 6:25, 6:31 and 6:24 and finished the first loop in around 20 mins spot on. Had a feeling I would struggle in the second half but surprised myself how good I still felt and maintained a good pace up to 5 miles with a 6:33 and 6:22 as I powered home more confident of a sub 40. In the final mile I got even stronger with a 6:14 and then really upped the pace again as I passed people on the finish straight. Super pleased with the overall effort, my 3rd best time ever. Lewis also smashed his pb by over a min for just under 44 mins.
