Day 1500 of streaking and I celebrated with the Gin Pit 5 miler. I am still not at my beating 40 minutes and did it by 1 second. I bought myself some very fancy cross country shoes yesterday but they can will not make their debut until next week.
The purchase was in part inspired by these comment on the Burnden RaodmRunners homepage:
"Cross-Country Leigh Sports Village - Red Rose League. Pride of place must go to Burnden Lady Vets who just pipped Accrington by one point to come first lady vets team. Well done also to Steve Nolan, who comfortably won his vet category .Not a great turnout from Burnden with so many races this weekend. Special praise must also go to Paul Johnson who managed to complete the course wearing road running shoes (god alone knows how he got through the twisting muddy section of the route). Time to invest in some cross-country shoes Paul.
Swinton 10 mile. Not a great turnout, mostly because of other races on this weekend. Well done to Lesley Fisher for winning her vet category. Special mention must go to Paul Johnson, running his third race in two days. Although I don't think he turned up for training on Monday evening."
I am not up to scratch with my training at the moment but I am enjoying get races under my belt.
