Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Notes & Comments

Great Eastern Half Marathon.

Excellent race, good course and great value for money.

Stuck to my plan of keeping it just sub 7's until 10 miles and then aimed to pick it up from there.

Felt comfortably on the edge if that makes sense and apart from a slight wobble at 10-11 miles (I think it was against the wind, or slightly up gradient, or both), where breathing felt a bit too laboured, at no point did I think "I can't do it, I'm in trouble". Recovered after 11m and pushed on.

Barely tired when finished, very bizarre feeling.

Went through 10m in something like 1.09.3x - so my 10M pb needs definite revision!

Interesting stats from the results page -

Finished in 287th place (Gun), 2974 finished behind me.
Finished 27th woman (gun), 1136 finished behind me.
Finished 11th (F30-34 cat), 180 finished behind me.

Opposite sex - I was faster than 88% of male finishers (ha).

Half way split mat - 45.34 for first half, 44.53 for second half.

I passed 52 runners in the second half, 6 passed me.

I was at apx 9m when the race was won.

I love stats :)

Weight ref - 8st 0lb.
