Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Notes & Comments

PeeeeeB! Well, that went well. Tricky conditions - windy, wet (downpour 10 mins before race = lots of bedraggled looking runners!) and a hilly, twisty course, exposed to wind on the roads/coastal path, then windy, rooty, twisty, gravelly stuff up through the castle grounds. Not easy. But great! A bit of a ding dong with 3 guys at the end. Took two of them but one elbowed me in the ribs to push me to one side to get inside line at final corner. WTF?! However, no offence taken, we had a good laugh after. He was under 40, so I felt like I wasn't racing him. But if that had been for 3rd V40 I'd have feckin had words!! Or maybe I just need to HTFU! Never experienced that in a race before!

Anyway, lovely weekend with the lad. He came down to watch me finish and I totally *loved* that. We had a good chat after and he stayed for some of the sarnies and cakes and chat, but not for prize giving. Which was admittedly pretty delayed. Probably partly because they need to work out what to do about the front 10 who had missed out 1 mile when cop car up the front went the wrong way! Didn't affect results apparently because the 10 running together all went same way and next runner (1st lady?) wouldn't have caught them. But times are wrong and as it's part of the Heb 3 (3 out of 5 Island half marathons, to count for a series total) the times matter.

Anyhoo, official results not out yet, but I was between 12th and 15th? about 1:27:50 and maybe 5th - 7th MV40? A pee bee too and a tricky course. This is a good thing! :-)G

*Update 13 Gavin Orr 39 01:27:54 MV40 Harmeny - 6th MV40, 7th over 40 M (one MV50 in there and a F!)

What a fantastic PB and mini-blog there! Congrats! Love the splits at the end (yeah, it was downhill, but they're still impressive)
